Quick answers to the things people ask before joining. If yours is missing, drop a message in Discord and somebody will sort it.
A multi-national Arma 3 community that plays combined arms ops every weekend. Not hardcore milsim, not casual pub lobbies - somewhere in the middle. We take the gameplay seriously and the rest of the time we are just mates in voice chat.
Technical Simulation. Our way of saying we use proper procedure on the field without dragging it into roleplay. Tight comms and movement during the op. Out of ops we are just mates in Discord.
Main ops run every Saturday and Sunday at 7PM GMT. Midweek, Wednesday is Ark's side missions (Fallout, SteamPunk and other one-offs) and Friday is Games Night, where Beffi runs a weekly poll on what we play. Monday is quiet - just Discord voice chat. We also run themed events around Christmas, Halloween and the like to mix things up.
The roster shifts week to week, but a typical weekend op lands somewhere between 15 to 25 in the mission. The live count is in the Discord if you want a number. ;)
Nope. Just a gaming community.
No. Milsim veterans and brand-new Arma players both fit. Basic Combat Training (BCT) covers everything you need to slot in.
16 minimum. Exceptions happen case by case if you can hold mature comms drop a message and Command Staff will have a chat.
2 ops a month is the floor. Most people show up weekly, but life comes first and we understand that. We just ask that you try to make it to at least 2 ops a month so you can keep up with the flow of things.
4 steps, usually 1-2 weeks total:
1. Join Discord and say hello
2. Download the modpack (preset is in #modpack-updates)
3. Attend Basic Combat Training
4. Sign up for the next Saturday or Sunday op
2 ops makes you a full member. Probation does not block you from earning certifications you can start those right after BCT, if the trainer is available.
No. We will teach you it is part of BCT.
Reach out to Command Staff in Discord and ask if allowed or not. We do allow trial ops on a case-by-case basis, but we need to manage server slots and ensure the trialist has a good experience.
Slots are first-come on the sign-up sheet. Over time you can lean into specialist roles like medic, marksman, AT, vehicle crew, leadership, etc. We do not have a formal class system or anything, just sign up for what you want to do that week and we will train you up over time if it is something more complex like flying or Zeus.
Brief gets posted the day before. Server goes up 2 hours before step-off.
You are not expected to join until 45 minutes prior, but you can earlier if you want.
The spoken brief runs 30 minutes before step-off. The op itself lasts roughly 2 hours.
Afterwards we drop into the TeamSpeak channel for your squad and the team lead runs a short debrief. That is the night.
About 2 hours from step-off to Return to base (RTB).
Yes. Your team lead will give you the short version in-game. You are expected to read the written brief in advance if you can it is posted the day before for that reason.
If signups fall under a full squad (7 or fewer) or there is no leadership available, the op gets canned. Does not happen often.
Depends on the mission, but 99% of ops have unlimited respawns enabled. Use logi to get back in, or use one of our custom rally points for your given squad.
PvE / co-op only for now. Zeus does run trained actors against us during ops, which is the closest we get to live opposition for now.
3-strike system. First is a warning, second is a 7-day soft ban, third is a permanent ban. We do not enjoy enforcing it, but the rules exist for a reason.
Yes, no problem. Just give a staff or leadership member a heads up so they know it is going out live.
Yes, movie nights, other games, social hangs. Our Community Team handles it, headed by Beffi (one of our admins).
Normal ops use an arsenal, so you can go full tactical Barbie if that is your thing. Joint ops usually have pre-made kits, occasionally with an arsenal as well.
CVO and M100F so far. We are keen to run more.
Yes. Reach out to our Command Staff in Discord and they will route it.
It is where we schedule all of our joint ops right now. We are rolling our standard ops over to it as well, gradually.
Yes. Run 2-5 ops with us first to get a feel for the unit, then request training from FoxTopic timing depends on schedules.
Once you have 2-5 ops under your belt and a feel for the unit, reach out to Ark (Head Zeus) and he will sort a slot.
A curated preset, imported through the Arma 3 Launcher. The latest preset file lives in the #current-modpack channel on our Discord.
You do not need to find or download individual mods the preset handles everything via Steam Workshop. Stuck on setup? Drop into #On-Topic for support.
Current size is posted in #current-modpack on Discord. Updates land roughly every 6 months.
Yes we run some DLCs depending on the current modpack required.
ACRE2 in-game (included in the modpack). Discord and TeamSpeak for everything outside/inside the op.
Try to grab a backup mic if you can. If you cannot, sit it out playing without a mic hurts the rest of the squad more than missing one op hurts you.
Drop into #on-topic on Discord. Most issues have already been seen by somebody. If it is a new one, somebody will help you troubleshoot and get it sorted.
Drop into Discord and ask. Somebody will point you in the right direction within the hour.
