Operating and securing the Site, processing server logs and IP addresses for security purposes, and maintaining operation archives. Our legitimate interest is balanced against your rights and does not override your fundamental freedoms.

Where we rely on your consent (for example, optional communications), you may withdraw it at any time by contacting unit leadership through Discord. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share information only in the following circumstances:
The home page surfaces live information by reading from a small set of public, third-party endpoints. We do not store the data those endpoints return; we cache the responses on our server for 30 seconds to 5 minutes and discard them.

What this means for you: server-side fetches happen from our host, so those services never see a visitor's IP for the data API calls. The image loads (Discord avatars, YouTube thumbnails) are made directly by your browser, so those CDNs do see your IP and may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies.
Discord widget anonymity: Discord substitutes anonymous sequential IDs (0, 1, 2...) for real user IDs in the public widget response, so we never receive a real Discord snowflake from this endpoint. We display the server nickname or display name shown by the widget exactly as Discord publishes it. In addition, the live voice widget only ever lists members sitting in the server's publicly visible social voice channels - members in any other channel are filtered out server-side and never shown on the Site.
Opt-out for Discord members: if you do not want your username and avatar to appear in our live widget while you're in voice, set your Discord status to Invisible, or ask a server admin to disable the guild widget entirely (Discord Server Settings → Widget). Either action removes you from the response on Discord's side.
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you leave the unit or request account deletion, we will remove your personal data within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate administrative purposes (such as maintaining operation archives).
We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

The Site is not intended for individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child under 16, we will take steps to delete that information as soon as possible.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
